JUDITH RICHARDSON

Judith Richardson studied Voice and Piano at the U.of A. and later continued her studies at the Pretoria Opera School in South Africa.  She also did Masterclasses with Elly Ameling at the Britten-Pears School in Aldeborough in England.

Judith formed a Lieder-Duo with Pianist Robin Phillips and toured the UK for many years doing concerts and festivals in Cambridge, Dartington, Farnham Castle, Knole House, London and Birmingham.  In Edmonton, she has sung many concerts for Alberta Baroque and Con Hall Series including the Soprano solos for Vivaldi and Poulenc Gloria and the Mozart Requiem and Bach Cantatas for Robertson Wesley Church.

She has conducted many masterclasses in Canada, UK and South Africa. Her students have won scholarsips from the Winspear and Johann Strauss Foudations and are in the BFA programmes for U.of A., U.B.C and the National Theatre School.  She is also a frequent adjudicator and holds a B.Mus degree, a Higher Diploma in Opera/Theatre and an A.Mus. from the Western Board of Music now called Conservatory Canada.  Judith teaches Classical Singing, Musical Theatre, Piano, Theory and Speech Arts.

WORKSHOPS PLUS:  Deportment, Monologues, Audition material, opportunities to work with accompanists, Drama Classes, Breathing for Singers, All concerts include a Dress Rehearsal.  Lessons include frequent work in the concert space.

Speech Arts includes monologues: modern and Shakespeare, spoken text and tools for communication.  She also teaches Enhance Your Speaking Voice through Metro Continuing Education.
