Elizabeth Grigaitis

Elizabeth Grigaitis received her Bachelor of Music with Distinction in voice performance from The King’sUniversity, Edmonton which included studies in vocal pedagogy, conducting, and piano. Eager to share her passion for music with others, particularly her interest in the human voice and its capabilities, she started a private studio in Leduc and formed a children's choir focusing on music literacy. She expanded her teaching to include MacEwan’s Conservatory of Music at Alberta College Campus where she teaches both private voice lessons and the Kodaly-based Music in Early Childhood program.  Elizabeth enjoys singing professionally in Edmonton and has performed with Edmonton Opera Chorus, Pop Goes the Opera and in several churches in the area. Sacred music became a personal pursuit and she has undertaken graduate studies in this area through Duquesne University and at Catholic University of America. Elizabeth has experience giving seminars on Gregorian chant, conducting church choirs, and she is a founding member of the Schola Cantorum of St. Joseph’s Basilica where she is currently Choral Assistant and directs the newly formed ladies ensemble, the Cathedral Cantorei. She is also the director of music for the Vital Grandin Chaplaincy's adult choir and men's schola. Elizabeth is excited to discover each student’s potential and help them reach their personal goals. She strives to foster a life-long love for music and helps students gain confidence through exploring and developing their voices. Lessons include instruction in vocal technique, theoretical skills, performance and artistry. Students may prepare for RCM examinations, music festivals and other performance opportunities depending upon interest. She is currently accepting students from ages eight to adult.
