MERRILL TANNER
Merrill has a Bachelor of Music (1987) and Master of Music (1989) in Voice Performance from the University of Alberta. She is also a registered speech language therapist with a specialty in voice. She loves to sing and loves to help others find their true authentic voices!
Teaching Experience:
She has taught singing at the University of Alberta Music department for Arts and Education majors, at the Saskatchewan High School of the Arts in Saskatoon and has had a private voice studio near the university for many years. Previous students have included and Connie Kaldor (an actress and folk singer), children preparing for solos in South Pacific in the Edmonton Opera and at the Citadel, as well as adults preparing for exams, festivals, and auditions (Pro Coro, B. Mus., etc.).
Recent Solo Performances:
Soprano Section Leader and soloist at McDougall United Church for last 10 years. For two years of the pandemic, she sang with a professional quintet of section leaders, music director and pianist live weekly online.
She sings yearly in the McDougall Wednesday at noon recital series.
Soloist in Edmonton Guitar Society Christmas Concert at Trinity Anglican Church (on Zoom and in person) concert, Dec. 10, 2021.
